Open House Brisbane
12-13 October 2013

Brisbane is a diverse city - a subtropical city with a perfect climate and its own distinct architectural style. It is an evolving city with one of the fastest growing economies in Australia.

Join us on the weekend of Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 October to discover and celebrate Brisbane’s amazing architecture and hidden treasures as we open the doors of a multitude of contemporary, historic, and environmentally significant buildings to everyone – all for free.

From historic landmarks and sustainable skyscrapers, to private homes and grand public spaces, Brisbane Open House (BOH) gives you rare access and insights into the extraordinary architecture that defines Brisbane, while introducing you to some of the people who make the city a vibrant and highly liveable place.

In 2013, Brisbane Open House will be opening the doors of approximately 70 commercial, residential, historic and public buildings in Brisbane city, Fortitude Valley, Spring Hill, Bowen Hills and South Bank.

This year the Brisbane Open House Speaker Series will offer an interesting and entertaining array of free lectures and talks, and young people will again have the chance to learn more about their city with the interactive and fun Brisbane Open House Children’s Program.

The event receives support from a broad range of private and public sector organisations and is the product of a unique partnership between the office of the Queensland Government Architect, the Brisbane Development Association and the National Trust of Queensland.
