About Open House Gdańsk

The cyclical, annual celebration of urban architecture focuses attention on the specificity of individual districts-protagonists, while taking up complex and often universal spatial and cultural issues. As the name suggests, the festival is an invitation to visit spaces that are normally inaccessible, such as private residential interiors or facilities for everyday public activities (cultural institutions, studios, galleries). The rich program, as well as the several months of work in the district that preceded it, lead to the creation, tightening and renewal of social bonds. It allows visitors to draw a portrait of residents in the context of architecture, and shows architecture in its multidimensionality - material and socio-cultural. The festival is co-financed by the City of Gdańsk.
