About Open House Mexico City

Open House CDMX provides free access to 100 buildings of great architectural value. Amongst the buildings that have participatied are cultural centres, schools, private houses, offices, governmental buildings, infrastructure and those of industrial use. The aim of the event is to bring people closer to their local architecture, to show them the value and importance of the built environment and to learn to appreciate architecture individually and as part of the city. Open House CDMX has featured great buildings of all periods by architects such as Luis Barragán, Manuel Tolsá, Mario Pani and Antonio Rivas Mercado, and has given special emphasis on the restoration and repurposing of great buildings.
