More than 30 places in Tartu, the second largest city in Estonia, will open their doors for over 300 tours as part of the first Open House Tartu. The festival is a satellite event of Open House Tallinn and part of the main programme of this year’s European Capital of Culture. 

Highlights include the University of Tartu Library, the Estonian Students' Society, the National Archives’ Noora Building, plus the New and the Old Anatomical Theatre. Don't miss the opportunity to visit Villa Tammekann, architect Alvar Aalto's first design to be realised outside Finland.

The 2024 edition of Open House Basel focuses on vital urban development zones and revitalised structures. Be sure not to miss Kunsthaus Baselland, a repurposed former industrial hall with three towering concrete triangles visible from afar; Setzwerk, a new cultural centre in the suburban community of Arlesheim; or the opportunity to visit the Glashaus, a designated historical monument situated close to the German border, that spotlights the conversion of an industrial building into ateliers and the urban continuity of the tri-border area.
