Joining the Open House Worldwide network in 2026, Open House Rīga invites everyone to discover Latvia's capital through its architecture.

On 10–11 October 2026, the city's first Open House festival will open the doors to 40–50 carefully selected buildings and places across both banks of the Daugava River. From historic water towers and hidden private residences to award-winning contemporary office buildings, Soviet Modernist landmarks and vibrant new urban districts, the programme reveals the many layers of Riga's built environment. Most of the participating sites are normally closed to the public or only partially accessible.

While Riga is celebrated for its UNESCO World Heritage Old Town and one of Europe's richest collections of Art Nouveau architecture, Open House Rīga encourages visitors to look beyond the familiar. Founded in 1201, the city has evolved into one of the Baltic region's leading cultural and business centres, where medieval heritage, industrial history and contemporary architecture exist side by side. Throughout the festival, architects, designers and knowledgeable guides will share the stories behind the buildings, offering fresh perspectives on the city and the people who shape it.

Following the Open House tradition, all visits are free of charge, making architecture accessible to everyone. The festival promotes quality design, encourages public engagement with the built environment and provides new ways to understand the value of architecture in everyday life.
