About Open House Seoul

As the capital of South Korea, Seoul has seen the coexistence of of 10 million people, 500 years of history and dynamic modern scenes. Open House Seoul tells the stories of this sprawling metropolis and is an opportunity to witness its outstanding architecture. Along with the Open House festival which opens doors to both private and public buildings, Open House Seoul provides additional programmes and events. Every year Architect Special focuses on the work of a selected architect, while Open Studio allows the public to visit an architect or artist’s studio. Together they allow us to experience the values of architectural spaces and deepen our understanding of the city.

Open House Seoul is becoming a messenger that shares good design and the value of architecture in Seoul. We provide a platform, not only for learning about the unique design of different sites—such as religious spaces, office buildings, and museums—but also for contemplating important topics such as how the built environment and urban planning can respond to social issues.
