Get Ready for Housing and the People: Part Two

Next weekend on April 9th, Open House Worldwide will present our second festival, Housing and the People. Over the course of 12 hours, the festival will take you across five continents to visit innovative and inspiring housing projects that prompt us to consider how we live together.

In March we shared some resources to get us thinking about housing around the world. Here we present another set of films, articles and podcasts to prepare for the festival. Don’t forget to let us know your own suggestions via Twitter or Instagram.

This is the second of a two-part series of recommended resources. Check out part one here.

Broadcasting now on e-flux

When We Live Alone explores the ways in which we live alone together in contemporary cities. The unprecedented rise of urban dwellers living on their own challenges normative ideas about home and raises questions about how this change in social structure and lifestyle affects cities as a whole. This is the second in a three-part short documentary series, conceived by Giovanna Borasi, directed by Daniel Schwartz, and produced by the CCA. The first part, What It Takes to Make a Home, considered the role of architects in tackling homelessness and was broadcast as part of the first Open House Worldwide festival in 2020.
